AIMEC-JAXA joint workshop was held at Tohoku University

AIMEC-JAXA joint workshop was organized by Prof. Sayaka Yasunaka, Unit Leader of WPI-AIMEC (Graduate School of Science, Tohoku University) and Dr. Hiroshi Murakami (JAXA) held at Sakura Hall, Katahira Campus, Tohoku University on July 7-9, 2025.

This workshop was held to deepen mutual understanding between researchers at WPI-AIMEC and the remote‐sensing team for JAXA’s GCOM-C (Shikisai) satellite, to boost the use of satellite data at WPI-AIMEC, and to discuss new opportunities for joint research with the GCOM-C group.

More than 80 researchers and students from Japan and abroad participated. 67 flash talks and poster presentations, and 3 lectures were given.
