Through outreach talks and workshops, we introduce junior and senior high students to the world of research and spark curiosity in marine science topics. We consider school students as key partners in our mission to responsibly manage and care for the Earth using science. We welcome the opportunity to explore these topics together. AIMEC visits are great for students who:
“(I learnt that) even in science, you can interact with people from all over the world and do something for world peace. Until now, I thought that science was always something that you did individually and specialized.”
- 1st grade senior high school student’s experience
Any junior or senior high school teacher in Japan (any subject, region, or grade). If you are a student, please talk with your teacher and ask them to apply for you. Some dates or formats may be difficult to arrange, and we may not be able to accept all requests, but we will try our best.
Please submit at least two months before your requested visit date so we have enough time to prepare.
After you submit the form, we’ll get in touch to plan a visit that fits your needs. In one or two short meetings (online or in person), we’ll decide the topic, format, date, AIMEC visiting member (researcher or outreach staff), and student group.
We’re happy to provide visuals or summaries to help you promote the event.
Students meet WPI-AIMEC members, ask questions and share their ideas.
We look forward to learning with you!
