WPI-AIMEC Participated in the JpGU‑AGU Joint Meeting 2026

The JpGU‑AGU Joint Meeting 2026 was held at Makuhari Messe from May 24 to May 29. WPI‑AIMEC participated by exhibiting a booth and numerous researchers shared their research through oral and poster presentations. Two JST‑ASPIRE supported students also presented posters and engaged with the international scientist community.

At the booth, WPI-AIMEC Researcher, Associate Prof. Baolan Wu, a physical oceanographer (Graduate School of Science, Tohoku University) delivered mini talks on her career and research, engaging visitors with short quizzes. The booth attracted a wide range of attendees, from high school students to senior researchers who enjoyed interactive activities such as a “lucky dip” featuring scientific projections and ocean‑themed poems. Exhibits including an Argo float and Sanriku fish specimens helped spark conversations about marine ecosystem change and AIMEC’s activities.
