Vice Director Fumio Inagaki’s Interview on “Basalt CCS” Technology Published in the Tokyo Shimbun and the Chunichi Shimbun

An interview with Vice Director Fumio Inagaki of WPI-AIMEC (JAMSTEC Principal Researcher, SIP Theme 4 Leader*) was published in the newspapers, the Tokyo Shimbun (January 26, 2025)  and the Chunichi Shimbun (January 27, 2025).

In the science section titled “Tackling Decarbonization”, he explains basic research on “Ocean Basalt CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage)” technology. This technology is expected to be effective in reducing CO₂, a major cause of global warming and one of the drivers of climate change.
