WPI-AIMEC Features in Nature Spotlight Article

An advertisement feature, “A quest to tackle the complexity of the ocean”, was published on the 21st of August, 2025, in the print and online version of Nature, a weekly international comprehensive science journal. The article is part of the Nature Spotlight on Climate Change.

In this article, WPI-AIMEC researchers from Tohoku University, JAMSTEC, and the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa spoke about the five “Grand Challenges” – a set of key questions driving the institute’s research on marine ecosystem change. The discussions highlighted the breadth and complexity of these challenges and the importance of bringing together experts from diverse disciplines.
