WPI-AIMEC members attended the International Meeting of the Western Pacific Subcommittee (WESTPAC) of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC).

●Administrative Division Director Ando gave a welcome speech at the opening ceremony as the IOC/WESTPAC chair.. In addition, he organized a workshop for the CSK-2 (2nd International Kuroshio Joint Survey) program with Prof. Xiaopei Lin of Ocean University of China, and Dr. Lan Smith (unit leader and principal investigator in the WPI-AIMEC) gave a talk at that workshop.

●Prof. Kondo gave a presentation on eDNA and strengthened networking with Southeast Asia.

●Dr. Siswanto (WPI-AIMEC Researcher) organized a workshop on monitoring and analyzing coastal eutrophication and HABs using ocean remote sensing.
